Item Description
Sizes are 1" to 1.75" all from the 1970s, all from the Marshall Levin Collection, and some, as noted,  with his documentation on reverse. In photo order: #1 from 1974, #2 w/Levin notation "NYC/June 1975/100" (meaning 100 made), #3 w/ Levin date "'76". Rough translation is "Collective of Women/The Liberation of Women Through The Labor Struggle".  #4 "Black Feminist" and likely related to last button in this lot, #5-6 two green color varieties, #7 "Clear Cassandra Peten" with Levin note on blank back paper "Black Woman Indicted For Shooting At Her Husband, Who Had Abused Her For Years. Oakland, Calif 1978."  Peten was charged with intent to commit murder. A Cassandra Peten Defense Committee was formed and a leading support group (who likely issued this button as a fund raiser) was the National Association of Black Feminists. All items Mint (except for Levin notes). Comes with Hake's COA.
