Item Description
Antique gold gilt frame w/19.5x29.5" opening showcases poster for blackface minstrel troupe created in 1877 when J.H. Haverly merged four of the companies he owned and managed. Poster features full body art image of "Johnson & Powers - Comedians" and was printed by The Strobridge Litho. Co., of Cincinnati, OH and New York, NY. 1880s. Poster is evenly aged and shows scattered wear along margins and at corners, including holes at top corners from hanging poster, upper right corner having to tape staining. Fine overall.
