Item Description
25.25x38" poster printed by W.J. Morgan & Co. Lith. of Cleveland, OH during the 1880s. Poster features near full body image of comedian Geo. Wilson at center, each corner of poster features minstrels in blackface. Each has caption below image, reading - "This Is No Laughing Matter; Another Note, It's Got To Go Down; Please Play Me Back" and "To Be, Or Not To-By." Poster shows obvious wear w/horizontal crease at center and scattered repairs/restoration including repair to 3-7/8" tear just right of top center, 3" tear at bottom right and a number of small tears and chips to margins. Lower right has some age spotting. VG overall as linen-mounted. Scarce early poster.
