Item Description
Large 28x42" single-sided heavy paper sign for c. 1935 promotion that saw 50 free 19" long China Clipper Models (w/a 22" wingspan) handed out to children who attended a special theater matinee where they could also obtain "A 5"x8" Action Picture Of The China Clipper." China Clipper promotion was courtesy of Pan American Airways, the China Clipper being the first of three Martin M-130 four-engine flying boats built for Pan American for use as the first commercial transpacific airmail service from San Francisco to Manila in Nov. 1935. Sign has been folded as issued w/some wear along fold lines including 1" and 2" splits at center and top right fold lines and 1.5" split along upper left margin. Lower right margin has some moderate aging and sign shows scattered handling wear/dust soiling. Fine overall. This sign is the rarest  piece for this premium. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
