Item Description
Sam Gold's experience in designing the Mickey Mouse Waddle Book led to developing this and following two lots #2211-2212. Pair of onionskin sheets w/mixed media prototype original art for 1930s premium Lone Ranger toy. 14x18-5/8" sheet features original art for store sign, featuring image of the ramp walker toy w/hand-lettered text reading "See The Lone Ranger Ride Down The Trail On Silver... Realistic Amusing Action - Get This Lone Ranger And Silver Walking Toy And Trail Ramp - Free Of Extra Charge With Purchase Of" and blank box image for product w/spot for price. Additional hand-lettered text includes "The Lone Ranger Is 6-1/2 Inches High - Ramp Trail Is 20 Long - A Real Set-Up Toy." Sheet shows obvious wear, w/large corner piece missing from top corners (right corner affecting "Hi-Yo Silver" text) and along lower right margin. Bottom right margin has 1" tear. Back of sheet has a number of clear tape repairs to back. Good/VG, but still displayable, especially if framed. Comes w/14.5x14-7/8" sheet w/original art of store display, featuring set up example of the premium toy. Display features similar hand-lettered text as seen on prototype sign. Sheet has some scattered edge wear w/a few clear tape repairs on back, but art remains clean w/vivid colors. Sheet is Fine overall while art is Exc. Unique pair. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
