9.5x13" artboard has mixed media prototype original art for sign promoting 1940s premium that was issued as a cereal premium in a variety of ways over the following decades. This is for an early incarnation, featuring World War II battleship and submarine. Hand-lettered text includes "Battleship Blows Up When Hit By Cardboard Torpedo Shot From Submarine" and "Given Free With The Purchase Of 2 Packages Of" w/blocked out letters for product name. Sign features great image of boy using 9" long submarine to blow up 15" long battleship. Small inset circle features smaller images of both ships. Moderate dust soiling to margins w/area of glue staining at lower left margin. Art has some scattered dust soiling but still displays Fine overall. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
