Item Description
The first two buttons in row 2 are Muchinsky book plate examples appearing on page #58. The other two are from his collection but not in the book. Group begins with 1.75" for the "Jersey City Jerseys." Button is from 1960 or 1961 when the team played in the International League as an AAA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The team actually began in Havana, Cuba but was moved to Jersey City following the Cuban Revolution. Remaining buttons are 1.25" with the first dated "1932." A year earlier Jacob Ruppert bought the Newark Bears and began building the Yankees farm system. Button has light stain around much of the perimeter but with barely any at all showing from front view. Next with worn ribbons and a brass pin depicting a baseball batter is for the "Newark Bears." White panel has spotting. The fourth button is a duplicate but clean and without stain. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
