Item Description
35" long hand-turned northern ash reproduction baseball bat made in the 1980s by Louisville Slugger using Babe Ruth's own specifications for the last style bat he used, issued to Ruth by Louisville Slugger on May 29, 1935. Knob is stamped "R 1935" and barrel has "George 'Babe' Ruth" etched signature, produced using Ruth signature on file at Louisville Slugger. NM. Comes w/hand-addressed envelope (w/personal address sticker on back) containing unlined 3x5" card that has been boldly signed "Mrs. Babe Ruth" in black felt tip pen by Ruth's widow, Claire Ruth (1897-1976). Marrying Ruth on April 17, 1929, the two were married until Babe Ruth's death in 1948. Card is Exc. Envelope shows wear as mailed/opened w/moisture smudge. Fine. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
