Item Description
6x7-3/8" first printing handbill for June 20-22, 1969 Newport '69 Pop Festival that took place at Devonshire Downs in Northridge, CA. The three-day festival is advertised as "The Weekend The Giants Get It Together" and the performer list does not disappoint. Performers include - The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Spirit, Joe Cocker, Taj Mahal, Ike & Tina Turner, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steppenwolf, Jethro Tull, Chambers Bros., Marvin Gaye, Three Dog Night Booker T & The MG's, Johnny Winter, The Byrds and others. Handbill has some scattered handling wear w/faint 1.5x1.5" stain at lower left corner, which has .25" tear to left margin. Horizontal/vertical folds run through center. Fine overall, but still makes for nice display.
