Item Description
"The Stars My Destination" is a science fiction novel by Alfred Bester. Set in the 25th century when humans have colonized the solar system, it tells the story of Gully Foyle, an immensely powerful teleporter driven by a burning desire for revenge. Originally serialized in "Galaxy" magazine beginning w/the Oct. 1956 issue, it first appeared in book form in 1957 and was later adapted as a graphic novel by artist Howard Chaykin in 1979. Offered here is a 11.75x17-/8" artboard w/original watercolor illustrations in three panels, showing futuristic craft arriving to collect "A Genuine Pre-Reformation Christian." Artboard has attached acetate sheet w/printed black line art, which when overlaid, presents art as it was published. Word balloons were cut out of watercolored artboard surface. Overlay has some aging and top/bottom margins of both overlay and artboard have pinhole at center. Fine overall, but art remains clean and Exc.
