9.25x10-7/8" hardcover w/32 pages and original dust jacket. Written by Sara Hoagland Hunter w/illustrations by Julia Miner, this children's book features a Navajo grandfather telling his grandson the story of how the Navajo language was used during World War II to transmit messages and orders, a method that the Germans were unable to crack. Published by Rising Moon, this is third printing, ©1999. Book has been signed by total of 22 Navajo Code Talkers who served during World War II, many of which have inscribed the names of their units. 21 have signed on title page, w/additional signature at top of first page. DJ has faint spot of staining at top right corner of front cover, but is o/w VF. Book is Exc. as are signatures. Comes with Hake's COA.
