Item Description
First is 4-7/8" depicting gorgeous die cut butterfly above title "A New One From F.F. Pulver Co. Rochester, N.Y. Makers Of Original Celluloid Novelties That Advertise." Also in this lot is 2-1/8" bookmark by Pulver advertising the "C. Howard Hunt Pen Co." This would also be c. 1903. Reverse has additional advertising text for this company located in Camden, NJ. Next is a 4-5/8" cello bookmark picturing in wonderful color a holly sprig with berries. This advertises Bastian Bros., another Rochester company that we have now documented as the successor to the Pulver company as the result of a sale that took place March 23, 1905. The fourth item in this lot is also by Bastian and it is a 2-5/8" tall bookmark picturing roses and advertising the Breen Co. The larger Bastian bookmark has tiny text reading "Successors to F.F. Pulver Co" so likely made very shortly after the 1905 acquisition. All four are quite scarce and Exc. to Mint.
