Item Description
Double-sided 8.5x10-7/8" MGM contract dated June 11, 1936 is for the film "Six In Search Of Death." Contract has typed name of William Wellman (1896-1975), an American film director notable for his work in crime, adventure and action genre films, often focusing on aviation themes, a particular passion. Beginning his film career as an actor, he went on to direct over 80 films. In 1927, Wellman directed "Wings," which became the first film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture at the first Academy Awards ceremony. Wellman has boldly signed back of contract in black ink. Staple holes at top corners w/some lt. handling wear but VF overall w/Exc. signature. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
