Item Description
8-3/8x10-7/8" two-page contract on "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios" letterhead is dated May 11, 1925 and is between MGM and the Wm. Fox Vaudeville Company of Hollywood, CA for the services of actress Zasu Pitts in the 1925 silent drama/romance "Lazybones" (typed as "Lazy Bones"), which also starred Madge Bellamy and Buck Jones. Second page has been signed in black ink by MGM Corp. Vice President Irving Thalberg, a noted film producer who worked at MGM for 12 years (1924-1936) until his untimely death at age 37. Thalberg supervised the production of over 400 MGM films, w/MGM releasing over 40% more films yearly than Warner Bros. and more than double Paramount's releases under his management. Contract has two horizontal creases as folded and top left/left margin has marks from paperclip. VF. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
