Item Description
5-1/8x13.5" flat. Cloth tape at center allowing the piece to fold in half for display in transportation vehicle w/additional text on reverse "For White Passengers."  These were produced to be movable as seating filled up. Light brown staining along top and right edge affecting the extreme edge of "ers" and a vertical fold affecting the first "s" of "Passengers." Otherwise only a small loss at lower right corner and handling wear consistent w/extensive use. VG. The majority of signs like this were destroyed in the wake of laws supporting integration. This is an extremely rare survivor of the Jim Crow era.
