Item Description
Pair of Rawlings Official balls, both double-signed in blue ink. Balls were single-signed by players involved in historic home runs. First ball has been signed by Randy Gumpert (1918-2008) on panel, adding "5-1-51" date and "1st HR.", a reference to Gumpert giving Mickey Mantle his first home run. Ball has also been signed by Jim Lonborg on opposite panel, adding "#536 - 9-20-68", a reference to giving Mantle his final home run. Other ball was signed by two players associated w/the "Shot Heard 'Round The World," a game-winning home run by New York Giants outfielder and third baseman Bobby Thomson off Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca on Oct. 3, 1951 to win the National League (NL) pennant. Ball has been signed by both Thomson and Branca on the sweet spot. Balls have been rubbed w/typical aging, but signatures are still bold and sharp and the balls are clean. Exc. overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COAs.
