Item Description
First is 7.25 striking deep purple ribbon with portrait in uniform and text "Geary And The Union". Two upper right corner creases otherwise Mint. Undated but almost certainly 1866 campaign with uniform image to remind voters of Civil War service. Likewise are pair of 1.25" white metal and brass tokens by W.H. Key identical except white metal dated for 1866 and brass for re-election in 1869. Each reads "For Gov. Maj. Gen. J. W. Geary" with military bust and reverse star surrounded by "I Vote As I Fight". 5" dark tarnish spot of back of white metal with the brass one Exc. with luster. Last is 6.25 ribbon reading "The People's Choice For Governor, W.W. Ketcham". He was delegate to Lincoln nominating conventions in 1860/64 and at PA state conventions got votes for governor in 1866, 1869 and 1872 so ribbon is from one of those years. On the back are two very slightly tacky .5 x 2.5" streaks of tape residue (no actual tape) across top and bottom edges. Front remains quite clean. Fine. Leon Rowe Collection.
