Item Description
11x15.5" thin cardboard folder w/six pages (not counting front/back covers) features great promotional images and text for "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" comic strip, a newspaper feature which began in Dec. 1918 in the "New York Globe." This KFS promotional folder dates to 1951 and was distributed to newspaper comic editors to entice them to run the feature in their paper. Folder notes all the ways "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" has appeared over the years (books, radio, newspapers, TV, exhibits and advertising) as well as a two-page featuring five different Ripley's features, including Babe Ruth and General John Pershing. Bottom half of the second of the two pages has pocket for holding "Sunday Samples" of the feature. Folder has even moderate aging and pocket has 4.5" spilt along side. Fine overall. Comes w/glossy 14.5x20.25" single-sided full color sheet featuring two Sunday features w/various historical facts and interesting cultural and/or natural statistics. Folded as issued but bright and clean. Exc. Great promotional kit. Rare and first we've offered in our 50 years.
