Item Description
Each knife has a single blade and each has a loop on the left side. There are 98 different inscriptions and four duplicates, all shown in the bottom two rows. About 85% of the knives carry advertising while the other 15% carry the name of a city or a sentiment such as "Love One Another." As demonstrated by this extensive collection, this was a very popular form of advertising in the 1930s and 1940s. Companies and brand names include: Lord Calvert, Seagram's V.O., Irish Hams & Bacon, Bendix-Westinghouse, Nugrape-Soda, Four Roses, Lehigh Steel Corp., Lenox Saws, and one from the famous cutlery company reading "Camillus Has The Edge." Some small wear or loss of lettering on about 15% the other 85% are Exc. to Mint. See next related group.
