Item Description
5-3/8x7-7/8" book w/92 pages. Written by famed comic book author Robert Kanigher, who is noted for his 20+ year involvement w/Wonder Woman, creating Sgt. Rock and for scripting what is considered the first Silver Age comic book story, "Mystery Of The Human Thunderbolt!" which introduced Barry Allen as The Flash in "Showcase" #4 (Oct. 1956). Book was published by Cambridge House in 1943. This book is the earliest work on comic writing, predating Stan Lee's "Secrets Behind The Comics" by four years. Book features chapters including - "Comics Script Formula, The Important 'Don'ts' In Comics Writing, Supplying The Editors Wants" among others w/"Illustrated Comics Script" including full reprint of Steel Sterling comic story w/art by Irv Novick. Contents also include sample Captain Marvel script. Book has some handling wear/aging w/scattered staining to front cover. Covers are Fine overall w/contents remaining clean and Exc. overall. Scarce and historic comic-related publication.
