Item Description
9.75x11.75" frame contains profile caricature self-portrait original art in ink, depicting Italian operatic tenor Enrico Caruso (1873-1921). Caruso sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and the Americas, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires that ranged from the lyric to the dramatic. Portrait has been matted to 6x7.25" and Caruso has boldly signed his name below, adding "October 1909" date (in Italian). Sheet has evenly aged, and Caruso's penwork has faded ever so slightly, but remains totally distinct. VF. Great self-portrait. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
