11x17" thin artboard features artist Tim Sale's pen and ink original art for cover to hardcover/softcover collection of "Superman Confidential" #1-5 and #11, published by DC Comics. Sale is an Eisner Award-winning comic book artist, noted for his collaborations w/writer Jeph Loeb, working on popular titles like "Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory" as well as "Superman - For All Seasons." Written by Darwyn Cooke (1962-2016), "Kryptonite" is the name of a storyline that tells the story of Superman's first encounter w/kryptonite. Cover features near full body image of Superman flying across grid on images including anthropomorphic kryptonite explosion of the planet Krypton, Ma and Pa Kent, Jimmy Olsen w/Daily Planet building in bkg., close-up of Lex Luthor, corrupt businessman Anthony Gallo, and Lois Lane. Art has been inked by Sale. Bottom margin has handwritten title and "HC Cover" designation. Both Cooke and Sale have signed art at bottom in black ink. Exc.
