Item Description
Offered in this auction as items #1412-1433 are the cover and all story pages to "Captain America" #265 (Jan. 1982). 11x17" artboard featuring Zeck's pen and ink (w/screentone accents) original art for Page 6, featuring seven panels showing Captain America's alter ego Steve Rogers asking Spider-Man's alter ego Peter Parker for film he took of Steve fighting group of hoodlums who were trying to rob him. Peter gives it to him, but his Spider Sense goes off in second panel, featuring classic split-head illustration of Peter and Spider-Man. Peter ducks into alley to change into Spider-Man, showing him checking his web-shooters in fourth panel and stowing his clothes in fifth panel. Spider-Man appears in costume in four panels, while last panel featuring Spider-Man web-swinging about Steve Rogers. Last panel also features Spider-Man noting his suspicions about Steve, referring to him as a "Plainclothes Avenger." Steve Rogers appears in three panels. Peter Parker appears in four panels (partially as Spider-Man in to panels) and Spider-Man appears in four panels (as well as the aforementioned split-head panel). Art has been inked by John Beatty. Top margin has production notations w/stamped title and inked issue/page number. Text has all been hand-lettered by Jim Novak. Top/bottom left corners have been clipped, not affecting art or text. Art remains clean and Exc.
