Item Description
Offered in this auction as items #1412-1433 are the cover and all story pages to "Captain America" #265 (Jan. 1982).  11x17" artboard featuring Zeck's pen and ink (w/screentone accents) original art for Page 26, featuring four panels showing Spider-Man and Captain America fighting a losing battle against Sultan's Biotron constructs, causing Sultan to gloat. Second panel features Spider-Man suggesting a retreat, w/Captain America holding up his shield and stating "You Go! I'll Shield You!" Spider-Man responds "What - - And Let You Hog All The Headline By Falling Beneath An Unbeatable Foe In A Blaze Of Glory? Mom, Apple Pie, And My Publicity Agent Would Never Forgive Me!" in third panel. Last panel shows Spider-Man swinging himself and Cap out of the base. Both Spider-Man and Captain America appear in every panel. Art has been inked by John Beatty. Top margin has production notations w/incorrect stamped "Amazing Spider-Man" title (which has been crossed out) and inked issue/page number. Text/captions are paste-overs, which have aged. Last panel has missing word balloon paste-over, w/some glue staining at this area. Screentone accents have also aged. Top left corner has been clipped, not affecting art or text. Aside from glue staining in last panel, art remains clean and VF/Exc.
