Item Description
5-3/8x8.5" softcover book by Kirk Alyn (1910-1999), the actor who portrayed Superman in the 1948 serial of the same name and its 1950 sequel "Atom Man Vs. Superman." Great book on serials w/much to do w/Kirk and Superman. This is a first printing, published June, 1971 and was personally owned by Alyn, who has made many notations throughout (to be added to a revised edition that was never published). Last page has additional handwritten note reading "Something To Be Added Here - Don't have Yet" as well as "Those Days Are Gone But The 'Nostalgia Lingers On'" quote. Comes w/full handwritten sheet that expands greatly on the ending text. Book shows some wear, mainly along spine and covers have slight age tanning. VF overall. Also comes w/vintage pair of 4x5.5" photos showing some of Alyn's stage work. These photos are similar to those used in the book (on pages 53 and 65). Exc. Lot comes w/Alyn's personal business card, featuring Superman shield outline w/"Kirk Alyn" name as well as the name of movie serials he appeared in. Back has been signed by Alyn in red ink. NM. A truly unique lot for the Superman and Kirk Alyn collector. Comes with Hake's COA.
