Item Description
12.25x22" on thin white paper. Poster promotes concerts on September 23, 24 and 25, 1967 featuring: Up w/Southbound Freeway and Billy C. and the Sunshine; MC5 w/Buoys and MC5 w/the Charles Moore Ensemble, Up, John Sinclair and Jim Semark at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI.  Art by Gary Grimshaw featuring an image of Hindu deity Shiva at top. Right and left extreme top edges have pairs of surface paper lifts from paper clips but there are no holes. Three 2.5" light horizontal creases along right edge at intervals consistent w/poster being rolled. Otherwise only handling wear, light softness of corners and minor age toning on reverse that is not noticeable when viewing front. Fine. This image was the first in the postcard series and while examples of the four card varieties are scarce the poster is extremely rare w/less than 15 examples known in any condition. The present offering is comparatively outstanding and unrestored. A rare opportunity to fill a key slot in the Grande series.
