Item Description
13x22". Original first printing on medium white stock. Poster promotes a May 11 concert at Cobo Arena in Detroit featuring The Doors, James Cotton Blues Band, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and a "Special Guest Appearance" by Jagged Edge. While not at Grande Ballroom this event was presented by Russ Gibb and the art for this poster was executed by Gary Grimshaw utilizing a photo by Joel Brodskey. Reverse top and bottom left corners have faint tape pulls and there is a splatter of light brown staining along two thirds of the left side. When viewing front of this poster there is only a tiny and faint dot of this staining visible on Morrison's right hand that we mention for strict accuracy. Otherwise a faint bend at bottom right corner and light handling wear. VF. This poster is notoriously difficult to find in pristine condition and is rarely offered in any condition. This example is among the finest we have encountered and the first we have offered. An outstanding Doors poster from the height of their creativity and among the most popular images of the era.
