Item Description
This limited print run 8.75x11" single-sided sheet was sent by Marvel Comics to family and friend of the Bullpen, c. 1967. Wonderful design w/Christmas wreath adorned w/ornaments featuring a vast array of 62 Marvel superheroes, villains and supporting characters; from the biggest like Spider-Man, Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Daredevil, Fantastic Four and the X-Men to more obscure characters like Spider-Man's Aunt May, Uatu the Watcher, Ghost Rider/Phantom Rider, Grey Gargoyle, Diablo, Pinky Pinkerton and Rawhide Kid. Of particular note is early appearance of Black Widow in her masked costume. Bottom right corner has been signed in blue felt tip pen by Marvel legend Stan Lee, who created or co-created many of these characters. Lee signed this at time of distribution. Two horizontal folds as mailed w/scattered handling wear and margin aging. Fine overall. A true Marvel rarity, this is the first example we've seen and this item is unlisted in J. Ballman's Marvel Silver Age Collectibles guide.Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
