Item Description
High quality 1.5" slightly domed button with back paper of maker St. Louis Button Co. that saw use 1928-1949 and we would date this piece to the year of 1936 when a farmer who owned the Cody homestead deeded four acres at the hill's summit where it was hoped a monument to Cody would be erected. Alas with the depression in full force money was tight and the project abandoned. Cello has faintest trace of age tone at the upper left between 10-1 o'clock but exceedingly minor. High gloss and a crystal clear real photo without dot pattern. This is the one example known to us although we did offer it once back in Auction #156 many years ago (1999) and even then it sold for just over $200.
