Item Description
4" diameter litho tin front with a black steel reverse which has a cutout vertical rectangular tab. Tab has open slot on the end so that with a screw and nut this could be fastened to an auto license. Incredibly bright and fresh color with only two or three virtual pinpoints of wear. We've never seen a metal license from this 1940 era in better condition with this piece being about 99.8% Mint. The full name of this group was Committee To Defend America By Aiding The Allies. The group was formed May, 1940 and was at the forefront of the effort to support a pro-British policy against Axis aggression. Curl carries a Chicago union label. Rare.
