Item Description
Lot of six 9x10" artboards w/acrylic original art for proposed series of signs to promote sales of war bonds and stamps. 1940s. Two feature great anti-Axis art w/Hitler being punched in the jaw and another showing Hideki Tojo holding a bloody dagger in bloody hand w/"Remember Him And Pearl Harbor?" text. Others show Uncle Sam's legs w/"Are You In Step With Him?" text, diving bald eagle, American pilot and image of quarter w/bullet and "Have You Taken Your Shots At The Axis Today - 25¢ Will Buy 12 Bullets" text. Some scattered aging/wear. Staining on backs from adhesive strips. A few have some margin staining, but Fine to VF overall. We are unsure if these were ever put into production, but still great unique pieces of original art from World War II.
