Item Description
Set of six 12x15.5" prints on textured paper issued by Kellogg's in 1938. Each features great nursery rhyme art by Vernon Grant (1902-1990), an illustrator known for his whimsical gnome characters and fairy tale drawings. Over seven decades, Grant created hundreds of illustrations for advertising (General Electric, Gillette, Hershey's. Kellogg's) and is best known as creator of Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal characters Snap! Crackle! and Pop! Prints include - "Jack Be Nimble; Little Jack Horner; Jack And Jill; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; Humpty Dumpty; Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater." Each has been hand-signed by Vernon in blue felt tip pen at bottom. Prints have scattered moderate margin wear, and two prints have thin 3/8" sliver off bottom right. Others have some small tears and all but one has thin strips of tape at top/bottom center margin. "Little Jack Horner" print has .75" tear on Jack's face. VG. Others are VG/Fine overall and all would make nice displays if matted. Rare to find as a signed set. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
