Item Description
Pair of approx. 20x30" posters, each printed 1918. First poster features wonderful image by Clyde Forsythe depicting US soldier standing on battlefield holding rifle and three German helmets. The soldier has a bloody bandage visible under doughboy helmet. "And They Thought We Couldn't Fight" text at top right. Additional text at bottom reads "Invest In The Victory Liberty Loan." Printed by Ketterlinus of Philadelphia, PA. Minor scattered margin wear w/horizontal fold line below soldier's knees. Archival tape repair on back to small puncture. If framed, would display VF. Second poster features image of mother holding baby while helmeted soldier w/bloody hands reaches toward body in bed. Text reads "Hun Or Home? Buy More Liberty Bonds." Printed by Edwards & Deutsch. Lower left has .5x1" corner off and bottom right has .5" corner off w/scattered margins tears. 3/8" puncture at bottom third of poster at center. VG.
