Item Description
4.25x11x6" tall pull toy, distributed by Borgfeldt, c. 1931. Features pair of 4" tall wood figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, each complete w/original string tail. Figures are attached to tin litho platform base w/wood wheels. Top of platform features choice circus scene in early color scheme w/Mickey depicted as an animal trainer, having blush cheeks and wearing green pants. Minnie balances atop a ball. Dachshund character Wienie, (who appeared in several early shorts including "Plane Crazy") is depicted between Mickey and Minnie, stretched into a loop through which a tiger leaps. As toy moves forward, the figures do somersaults. Original pull string is attached to front. Underside of toy has bellows mechanism which produced a squeaking sound. This no longer works. Figures have some tiny scattered paint nicks mostly on/around ears. Tin base has just tiny trace of wear w/some minor edge wear. All remains totally bright and clean. Overall still a VF example of this classic toy, one of the nicest distributed by Borgfeldt. Great early Mickey Mouse toy. Rare.
