Item Description
21x22" glossy paper store sign features nice photo image of Miss Harlem Iris Smith w/image of Chesterfield cigarette in hand and two packs of Chesterfield cigarettes at lower left. Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co., 1954. Chesterfield signs of this size were typically printed in thin cardboard. Testimonial text reads "I Like Chesterfield Best" w/her facsimile signature at top and "Chesterfield - Best For You" promotional text at bottom. Bottom right corner has 3/8x.5" piece off and margins show some lt. scattered wear w/minor chipping at top right. Fine overall. but despite issues, sign remains bright, glossy and would display Exc. if framed w/included matte. Much more limited print run than most Chesterfield signs as these were only used in stores serving African-American customers during segregation.
