Item Description
These items from the Muchinsky Collection lead off with a 2.25" button for the "Milwaukee Braves 1957 National League Champs". White background has numerous small brown marks. Button is joined to a fabric and celluloid 8" baseball player figure who is missing his bat and with some small brown marks on his uniform plus fade of the blue color on his uniform. Next is 8" felt and celluloid baseball player with "Japan" on the back of his head (previous item has same mark) and with a 2.25" pinned on button "American League Champions/Baltimore Orioles/World Series/1966." Button is not stained and has full gloss but the intensity of the orange background has faded. Next is 1.75" "New York Yankees/American League Champions" with ribbon holding a 4" silver plastic trophy cup. Next are six buttons with either attached celluloid baseball players or in the case of Detroit a pair of molded plastic tigers. Each of these attachments is about 3-4" tall. The buttons range in size from 1.25" for the "Boston Red Sox" pair up to 2.25" for the largest of the Tigers button. The smaller of these reads "Detroit Tigers American League Champs  1968." The attachment is a key fob held to the button by a ribbon. Next is 1.75" for the "Milwaukee Braves" and the last item is 1.75" for the "Athletics." Each of these may show a tiny mark on the outer rim but in both cases this was just surface dirt now removed. The baseball player on the Athletics button has slight damage to the edge of his left arm but this appears to be as produced. All six buttons are extremely clean and overall the group is Exc. to Mint. Last are four buttons each 1.25". The first has a celluloid baseball while the remaining three have ribbons holding about 2" in diameter tin litho baseballs. Team names are "K.C. Blues" c. 1930s and with light discoloration over the white background. Second is "Topeka Owls" with a small tear where ribbon joins ball but still over 50% complete. Next is "St. Louis U" with some surface wear to the button in reflected light and the ball has a dark area on the reverse. Last is "W & M" with very small tear where ribbon joins ball and ball is missing 1" diameter area of paint. Fine/VF overall. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
