Item Description
Large and impressive 23-7/8x43.75" cardboard sign w/easel back features graphic display of eight men engaged in various sporting activities (walking, diving, tennis, golf, baseball, track, rowing, polo) w/bottom displaying four different models of athletic supporters manufactured by Bauer & Black, a Chicago, IL manufacturer of various medical supplies and related materials. Sign dates to the 1920s. Bauer & Black was founded in the mid-1890s and was acquired by the Kendall Company in 1928. Easel has some tape repairs and is missing one of two small fold-over pieces. Horizontal fold at center as issued. Sign has some corner tip and margin wear, but remains clean w/bold colors. Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 50 years.
