Item Description
Sizes are 1" to 1.75". These buttons are in the Advertising section of the book shown as items 42-45 on page 294. First and last are cello with those picturing the bear cub being litho. First button has grey colored text that may once have been darker although button still displays glossy and with no surface wear, VF. Text is "J.B. Simpson, Inc./Tailors" with "Cubs" at the center of the stitching on the baseball. Muchinsky gave this a $200 value and each of the following bear cub buttons he gave a $100 value. The first bear has gold text "O U Shine" while the second button is without this text and the bear appears in b/w rather than bw/brown. First button has only a few pinpoints of paint missing and is NM. Second button has crazing of the paint that shows on close inspection plus a couple tiny dots off the bear's cheek at the right and two dots off the background by his ear. Still Fine. Last is the "Heileman's Old Style" beer advertising button. This has some brown dots on the edge, a couple over the baseball, one at center left and bottom edge has 1/16" nick in the cello. Overall still with gloss and VG.
