Item Description
A Liberty Bond (or Liberty Loan) was a war bond that was sold in the US to support the allied cause in World War I. Offered here are pair of 11x14" thin cardboard signs promoting buttons received upon purchase of Liberty Loan. First sign reads "Wear Your Honor Button" w/large image of "Fourth Liberty Loan" button w/flag image. "4th Liberty Loan Bonds" text at bottom. Printed by The Commercial Prtg. & Litho Co. 1918. Second sign reads "Honor Button - Every American Should Consider It An Honor To Wear This Button" w/large image of "Liberty Loan - V" Honor Button and "Victory Liberty Loan" text at bottom. Printed by Heywood Strasser & Voigt Litho Co. 1919. Both signs are evenly aged w/some corner tip wear and are Fine to VF overall. Both are scarce. Signs come w/matching 5/8" dia. litho button featuring designs shown on signs. Fourth Liberty Loan button has some lt. aging/wear and is VF overall while other is Exc./NM.
