Item Description
Large two-piece cardboard sign attached at center w/tape on back, complete piece measuring 21x87.75". Sign promotes "Buddy Deane Bandstand" dance program on WJZ 13 TV of Baltimore, MD. Late 1950s. Similar to Philadelphia's "American Bandstand," the program featured teens dancing to music. Sign features cartoon image of teen girl dressed as wizard holding telescope towards large photo portrait image of Deane. Sing also notes show sponsor Westinghouse as well as mentioning MGM and RKO movies (no title listed) airing on WJZ. Sign has obvious but even aging and scattered edge/corner tip wear, w/wear being more moderate at bottom left corner of right hand portion of sign. Two .5" holes along center vertical assembly line. VG/Fine overall. Scarce.
