Item Description
13-15/16x22-1/16" on thin cardboard that has been printed w/black background on both sides. This poster is dominated by a large portrait of Seeger singing and playing his customary banjo. A stamp at bottom right reads in small text "E.C. Students $1.25 In Advance." A powerful early artifact featuring a legendary figure of the American folk revival. Bottom right corner has crease that just breaks the surface paper and we note a 1/4" horizontal tear just to the right of the "May 15" and not affecting any of the text or graphics. Otherwise only minor surface paper losses and handling ware. Fine. An article in the local Palladium-Item newspaper noted that "An Estimated 950 People Heard Folk Singer Pete Seeger... Nearly Half The Crowd Came From Other College Campuses." This piece was saved by a student at the college who has preserved it for over 50 years. A truly amazing survivor that is almost assuredly the only example extant.
