Item Description
11x17" artboard has Scott Williams' pen and ink original art (w/screentone shading) for cover of "The Punisher" Vol. 2 #15, published by Marvel Jan. 1989. Williams' art features The Kingpin standing over a chessboard, angrily crushing a figural Punisher chess piece. A large Kingpin chess piece sits on the board among other figural pieces, including broken Microchip piece. Left/right margins have extensive handwritten editorial notations regarding coloring of cover. Nice use of screentone shading accents. Williams has signed art beside Kingpin's hand. Bottom margin has handwritten title, issue number and artist name. Back has two 1988 Marvel copyright stamps and piece of tape w/handwritten printer's note. Staple holes at upper left w/some lt. scattered corner wear. Art remains clean and Exc. Jason Taulbee Collection.
