Item Description
Original mailing envelope w/typed recipient name/address is postmarked Nov. 12, 1973 and has inkstamped pointed hand on front. Envelope contains 8.5x11" typed letter on "Walt Disney Productions Celebrates 50 Happy Years Of Family Entertainment" letterhead and is dated Nov. 11, 1973. Letter is from Disney animator Ward Kimball, one of Disney's legendary Nine Old Men - and mentions Kimball's retirement as well as giving some history including anecdotes about Mickey Mouse posters outside theaters and his bed building sequence that was cut from "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs." Letter has been signed at bottom in blue ink beside smiling moon inkstamp. Exc. Comes w7x10-1/8" trimmed sheet of unlined paper w/black ink sketch of the Evil Witch from Snow White holding small "Lionel" train w/handwritten dialogue concerning pies and the hobby of model railroading. Train has been colored red. Both letter and sketch have been folded as mailed but are o/w Exc. Comes w/3.5x5.5" postcard of steam locomotive and back has handwritten message from Kimball to same recipient as mailed letter, which again notes Kimball's love of trains and asks if fan still has Lionel train w/pipe cleaner Witch attached. Postcard has lt. wear from mailing and is VF. Interesting lot.
