Item Description
12x17.5" thin artboard mounted to Bainbridge Board features original art by Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff, one of Bob Kane's main "ghost artists." He is also known for co-creating the heroine Hawkgirl and the villainess Poison Ivy. Pen and ink w/watercolor original art shows Superman and Supergirl at center, flanked by Superman's adoptive parents Ma and Pa Kent at left and his birth parents Jor-El and Lara at right. Various Superman supporting characters appear as well, including - Jimmy Olsen and Lucy Lane, Perry White, Lois Lane and Lana Lang, Bizarro (and Professor Dalton, the scientist who created him in the pages of "Superboy"), the mermaid Lori Lemaris, Mr. Mxyzptlk, the Legion of Super-Heroes (including Sun Boy, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy) as well as the Super-Pets - Krypto the Super Dog, Streaky the Super Cat, Comet the Super Horse and Beppo the Super Monkey. 1990s. Moldoff has signed at lower left. NM. Great and classic grouping of the Superman Family of the 1950s.
