Item Description
22-7/8x28-5/8" beautifully crafted custom frame holds pen and ink original art for "Tomahawk" #16 (March 1953) comic cover featuring Tomahawk and Dan Hunter defending Fort Mystery from advancing Native American forces. Art is by Bob Brown (1915-1977), a comic book artist best known for his work on the "Batman" and "Superboy" titles. "Tomahawk" title is paste-over stat which has darkened w/age. DC insignia, issue number/date and promotional text at top are also paste-overs. Tomahawk's head is paste-over w/altered original art by Fred Ray. Art remains clean and Exc. Art is further enhanced by great frame created by artist Dan Makara, featuring collage style utilizing various vintage "Tomahawk" comic images, including partial "Star Spangled Comics" cover (the title Tomahawk first appeared in).
