Item Description
13.25x16.25x5.75" deep tin body sign w/wooden frame front. 1926. Sign features photos of female model w"Lady Bob" hairstyle and male model sporting a "Sport Cut." Promotional text includes - An Investment In Good Appearance - Pays Big Profits Socially And In Business - Good Appearance - A Step Toward Success." Back has embossed text noting "Loaned By Ar. Winarick - New York N.Y." a leading maker of hair and beauty products in the 1920s and beyond. Display was designed w/slots so various signs placed between two glass pieces could be changed out. Signs pertained to barber/beauty shops and these were distributed by Mah Studios as marked on corner of sign. Original porcelain socket is equipped w/flasher unit inside and is working (cord is a later replacement). Bulb lights entire sign's bkg/ but brightest lighted area is "Success" text at center bottom. Scattered aging and lt. wear from use, but still VF for display.
