Item Description
14.5x39.75" frame contains vintage panoramic photo that has been professionally double-matted to 6.75x31.75". Photo shows the Minor League Class AA American Association Champions for 1930 - the Louisville Colonels. Photo has had names of each player (and manager) added to photo by studio, as well as "Champion's [sic] 1930" designation inside pennant design. Players include - Herman Tayne, Phil Weinert, Guy Williams, Ray Thompson, Mel Simons, Ken Penner, Ganzen Foster, Roy Wilkinson, Manager Allan Sothoron, Billy Herman, Clarence Nachand, Joe Deberry, Ben Tincup, Larry Merville, Art Funk, Johnny Barnes, Johnny Marcum, Dudley Branom and Joe Olivares. This was Herman's last year playing in the Minor Leagues, joining the Chicago Cubs the following year (and playing there until 1941) before setting many NL defensive records for second basemen. Herman was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1975. Photo has some lt. scattered handling wear but displays Exc. as professionally framed.
