Item Description
6x9" mailer opens to 18-1/8x23-7/8" overall. Issued by Hillerich & Bradsby Co., makers of the famed Louisville Slugger baseball bats. Mailer notes bat models used during the 1929 season had been added to the 1930 Louisville Slugger line, noting three new models - No. 40JF Jimmie Foxx, No. 40MO Melvin Ott and 40AS Al Simmons. Mailer features advertising campaign highlighting the "Bone-Rubbed" method of finishing Louisville Slugger bats, showing illustrations of actual bones being rubbed on the bats. Previously this was typically a process done at home and was now offered as a service by Louisville. Professional MLB players are featured in photo on inner spread. These include - Foxx, Ott and Simmons (shown "boning" a bat w/a horseshoe) as well as Goose Goslin, Paul Waner, Babe Ruth, Rogers Hornsby and Lloyd Waner. Inner spread also mentions free "Famous Sluggers Of 1929" booklet. Folded as issued w/some aging to paper. VF overall. Rare.
