Item Description
21.5x27.5" frame holds wonderful cover recreation for "Police Comics" #11 (Sept. 1942) featuring Plastic Man emerging from test tube to spit in mad scientist's face. Inset portraits of The Spirit, Manhunter, #711, Chic Carter and The Human Bomb at left. Art was black line screen print that was then hand-painted by the original cover artist - Gill Fox (1915-2004), an American political cartoonist, comic book artist/editor and animator. This is one of just two made and is the only one Fox completed before his death. Custom matte has cut opening at lower right for Fox's signature. Exc. Dan Makara Collection.
