Item Description
Factory-sealed large 15x24x4.5" deep illustrated cardboard box contains set by Mattel, ©1966 Space Productions. Box has great full color reflective foil box label showing the Robinson Family engaged in battle w/two large cyclops creatures (who are slightly different in appearance than the classic monster that was featured on the show). Underside of box has die-cut windows showing the components of the set. Still sealed in original shrink-wrap, though this has large puncture w/areas of missing cellophane along side panel. Exposed cardboard has aged while rest of box has slight inward warp due to tightness of shrink-wrap. Box is Fine/VF overall. Set is complete w/gun consisting of two main hard plastic pieces which can be assembled into larger rifle or used as stand-alone weapons. Gun has viewing scope, "Shrieking Space-Tracer" whistle attachment and launches two "Roto-Missiles" saucers. Assembled size w/both gun units in place is 20" long. Larger of two units has foil sticker w/Mattel logo and "Lost In Space - Roto-Jet Gun" name on one side of barrel while opposite side has detailed simulated controls. This unit produces a loud pop when trigger is pulled and known as the "Pistol" while the smaller gun is the "Roto-Launcher." When the smaller unit is connected to the front of the larger unit, it forms a sub-carbine and when reversed, forms rifle. "Shrieking Space-Tracer" is loose within box but o/w contents are Mint as packaged. Rare and just the second factory-sealed example we've offered in our 50 years.
